My name is USCG Licensed Captain Billy Davis, and I have taken great pride in fishing these waters over the past two decades coming up with unique fishing opportunities and now I want to let others get out and share in some of the adventures I take. I was born and raised in Knoxville, went to Karns High School, and I am graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s of science degree in geology. I worked for 10 years as an environmental geologist studying water quality and contaminant migration hydrogeology all over east Tennessee. I was able to learn all about the various river systems and spent plenty of time driving the backroads of east Tennessee. I saw patterns developing throughout my time on the water and started to realize that fish will be in certain spots year after year. We fished as often as we could and I spent countless hours chasing these fish by myself. After realizing my heart is on the water and fishing is my true passion, I took the leap and decided to go all in as a full time fishing guide. The results of my adventure are on the next few pages. I offer what I believe are the most unique striper fishing adventures in east Tennessee. I promise you that nobody goes harder than I do to put quality fish in the boat. Read More
Being a geologist/angler, I have an in-depth understanding about the earth’s cyclical patterns and I have a unique understand of the river systems in Tennessee. Each river system is unique based on the environmental factors and these factors influence the location of fish. I am never satisfied with just finding fish, I strive to learn exactly why a fish is at a certain location at a certain time of the day. The TVA river system is complex and it takes someone that understands these patterns to effectively keep their clients on fish. I will help to teach you why certain stretches of waters are more effective than others. I will put forth the effort to ensure your trip is informational and enjoyable as possible. My clients come from all over the country and a lot of them come several times a year. I am proud that many make my fishing trips part of their yearly vacations. When we are out on the water, all you get is hard nosed fishing mixed with fun and a little education. Fishing for apex predators isn’t just a pastime or hobby, it really is a science, a passion, and my way of life. Women and children are always welcomed and I guarantee they will have a good time.
In my opinion, if you fish like everybody else, you catch like everybody else. What fun is that? I go out of my way to do things nobody else does and the results are on the following pages.
I don't chase schooling fish and I won't rush you back to the dock after a limit of fish. There are plenty of other guides that will do that. Sometimes we may hit several reservoirs or rivers in a given day to find these fish.
For the most part, we target large stripers with large live baits, which I believe is the most effective method. I do offer artificial lure only trips if you want to fish this way.
This gives you more of a show and a great experience.
